How To Know If You’re Blocked On WhatsApp By Your Partner

How do you know if someone has blocked you on WhatsApp without texting them?

Beyond Blackberry’s BBM, WhatsApp was the only free messaging app that enabled users to sign in with their mobile number at any time. Instantly gaining 250,000 active members, WhatsApp 2.0 was a huge success. Acton used this as leverage to persuade a group of like-minded former Yahoo workers to contribute $250,000 as starting money.

Later that year, WhatsApp added support for multimedia messaging; the following year, it was made available for Android. WhatsApp quickly attained ubiquity after that. One billion texts were being transmitted daily by October 2011; at the beginning of 2013, WhatsApp claimed 200 million active users.

Facebook flexed its muscles since it was evident that WhatsApp posed a danger to its product. It decided to purchase WhatsApp for $19 billion back in February 2014, which remains its biggest investment to date and among the most expensive tech purchases in history.

Despite promises of greater degrees of encryption, supposedly end-to-end by 2016, this has raised some controversy regarding data sharing with the parent corporation. On account of these worries, both founders have departed the business.

But WhatsApp continues to dominate its industry. Since its basic origins, it has expanded to include services like voice service, videoconferencing, and group calls (both voice and video), and at the beginning of 2018, WhatsApp Business was introduced. Additionally, payments have been implemented in Brazil and India, the two largest markets. Over 100 countries use WhatsApp, which is the most widely used messaging app globally.

So it comes as no surprise that WhatsApp allows you to block users whose messages you don’t wish to receive any longer. The most effective technique to prevent someone from contacting or messaging you on WhatsApp is to block them. But how would you know if you were the one who was blocked?

Sadly, there is no easy way to determine if you have been restricted on WhatsApp. But you may figure it out by using some clues. You could be concerned if someone has blocked you on WhatsApp or if you’re having problems messaging them.

The “Last seen” and “Online” settings on WhatsApp can be turned off by users, so it’s conceivable that somebody you believe has banned you has just increased their anonymity. While WhatsApp doesn’t have a feature that will

On WhatsApp, you have the option of blocking any user. When a person doesn’t want to communicate with someone on WhatsApp, they can use this option. Users can be blocked easily. However, because there is no tool to do so, how can you tell if anyone has blocked you? Find out by reading on.

1. The ‘last seen’ status of a contact is hidden.

Assess the user’s “last seen” status as a starting point. This notification notifies you of the last time the person used WhatsApp and is updated each time they access the program. If there isn’t one, you have probably been blocked, however, it’s also possible that the user just turned off the function on their account.

2. You are not aware of a contact’s updated profile image.

You will always see the account image that was there when you were blocked, even if the person who blocked you later changes their photo.

As a result, it is impossible to tell for sure if they are changing their profile photo.

However, if you are aware that this contact frequently updated their profile image and they have now abruptly stopped, that is a clue that you have been blocked. Verify whether the user is online. If you are not blocked and the user currently has WhatsApp open, you will see the term “Online” at the top of the discussion. If you don’t see “Online,” it could signify that the individual has blocked you because they don’t have an image.

3. Only one checkmark is displayed in your chat.

WhatsApp tracks your messages using check mark icons. Your message has been sent if there is a single check mark next to it; two check marks indicate that it has been acknowledged. That second checkmark will never be shown when you text someone who has banned you. There’s a strong probability that you’ve been banned if you’re online and your text is still not sent.

There are two checkmarks to the right of the timestamp when you communicate a message to a recipient who has not blocked you. You might have been restricted if the second checkmark never materializes. But if the recipient’s phone isn’t working or if they removed the app, you’d see only one checkmark.

4. Your calls won’t connect.

You will not be able to phone anyone who has blacklisted you either, in a similar manner. The call won’t connect when you attempt. A voice call to a particular user is started by clicking the phone receiver symbol at the top of a chat. If the user does not answer the call, it may be because they have blocked you. It might also indicate that they’ve turned off voice calls in their privacy options.

5. The contact cannot be added to a WhatsApp group.

Last but not least, try adding the acquaintance to a WhatsApp group. The surest indication that you were restricted is if you receive a notification stating that you are not able to add them to your community.

Reasons why you might be blocked on WhatsApp

Whatsapp has a few drawbacks as well. Many people choose to text instead of using Whatsapp due to these drawbacks.

  • Whatsapp users are frequently irritated by media texts and spam messages.
  • Fraudsters that wish to extort money from users are currently centered on WhatsApp.
  • On WhatsApp, there are several concerns regarding chat and media security.
  • It is not possible to use the same phone number and equipment for several WhatsApp accounts.
  • Whatsapp backups may fail to move all chats to a new device. As a result, all of the data is destroyed and cannot be retrieved.

How secure is WhatsApp?

Users of WhatsApp are assured that safety and confidentiality are major considerations. For both phone calls and texts, the app by default encrypts all text messages. This prevents other apps from stealing your data. Whatsapp can obtain and trade data with other apps because Facebook owns it. The Whatsapp app offers one-on-one calls and team calls for up to eight individuals for video conferencing.

Summary

In many aspects, WhatsApp is more secure than mobile phones and other chat apps. Other programs and texting platforms do not provide end-to-end encryption, but WhatsApp does. Additionally, WhatsApp enables users to entirely block unwanted contacts. However, standard messaging applications still display blocked messages even after you delete the account.
